A quick and healthy snack featuring crisp apple fries with a hint of cinnamon, cooked to perfection in an air fryer for a guilt-free treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium apples (Fuji or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples. Cut into fry-shaped sticks about ¼ to ½ inch thick and 3-4 inches long, removing seeds and core.
  2. Toss apple slices with 1 teaspoon lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. In a bowl, mix 1 tablespoon coconut or olive oil, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 tablespoon brown sugar (if using), a pinch of salt, and optional nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice.
  4. Add lemon-coated apple slices to the spice mixture and toss gently to coat evenly.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  6. Place coated apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through (5-6 minutes). Add 2-3 more minutes if a crispier texture is desired, watching closely to avoid burning.
  8. Remove and let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Choose firm apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp for best texture. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Adjust cooking time based on apple moisture and air fryer model. Lemon juice prevents browning. For vegan version, use coconut oil and skip brown sugar or substitute with plant-based sweetener.
