A hearty and soul-soothing dish featuring tender chicken slow-cooked in rich, creamy gravy. Perfect for cozy family dinners or stress-free meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts lightly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, melted butter, dried thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the Crockpot in a single layer. Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked (internal temperature of 165Β°F or 74Β°C).
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the Crockpot and set it aside on a plate.
  6. Whisk the all-purpose flour into the gravy in the Crockpot to thicken it. Let it cook for an additional 10-15 minutes on high, stirring occasionally.
  7. Return the chicken to the Crockpot, spoon the thickened gravy over the top, and let it warm through for 5 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite sides.

Notes

[‘Use fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for added flavor.’, ‘Make sure the chicken is in a single layer for even cooking.’, ‘Whisk the flour into the gravy slowly to avoid lumps.’, ‘Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving to keep it juicy.’, ‘Use the cooking time to prepare sides or set the table.’]
