A quick and easy homemade caramel frappuccino recipe that blends strong coffee with creamy milk and rich caramel sauce for a smooth, frosty coffee treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) brewed strong coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk (or 2%/plant-based milk like oat or almond)
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups (240360 ml) ice cubes
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons (1530 g) granulated sugar or sweetener (optional)
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream or whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup (240 ml) of strong coffee or espresso and let it cool completely.
  2. If making homemade caramel sauce: melt ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar with 3 tablespoons (45 g) butter over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and whisk in ¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream and a pinch of salt. Let cool.
  3. Add cooled coffee, milk, ice cubes, caramel sauce, sugar, and vanilla extract to a blender.
  4. Blend on low to high speed for 30-45 seconds until thick, frothy, and smooth with no large ice chunks.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more caramel sauce or sugar if desired, then pulse to mix.
  6. Pour into tall glasses and top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use chilled coffee to prevent melting ice and watery texture. Adjust sweetness gradually. For extra caramel flavor, drizzle caramel inside the glass before pouring. If no blender, shaking in a jar or whisking with crushed ice can work but won’t be as smooth. Freeze coffee in ice cube trays for thicker texture without dilution.
