Tender, juicy chicken coated in a lightly crisp layer, smothered in creamy feta, and drizzled with a sweet yet spicy hot honey sauce. A flavorful dish ready in under an hour.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko recommended)
  • 23 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • Juice of half a lemon

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season them generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up a dredging station with three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs. Coat each piece of chicken first in flour, then dip it in the eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs stick.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the breaded chicken into the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine honey, red chili flakes, and lemon juice. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through. Remove from heat.
  5. Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. Arrange the chicken on a serving platter and crumble feta cheese generously over the top.
  7. Drizzle the warm hot honey sauce over the chicken and feta. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispy chicken, bake in a 375Β°F oven for 5-7 minutes after frying. Adjust chili flakes for spice level and use fresh feta for better flavor.
