The buttery crunch of pecans combined with a rich, gooey filling makes this Kentucky pecan pie the ultimate dessert for any occasion. Simple, foolproof, and utterly irresistible!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Place the oven rack in the center position.
  2. Roll out your pie dough and press it into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges for a decorative touch and set aside.
  3. Spread the pecan halves evenly in the pie crust.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and salt.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the bowl. Whisk until smooth and fully combined.
  6. Slowly pour in melted unsalted butter while whisking. Ensure the butter is warm but not hot.
  7. Pour the filling over the pecans in the pie crust. The pecans will float to the top naturally.
  8. Cover the edges of the pie crust with aluminum foil or a pie shield to prevent over-browning.
  9. Bake the pie for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed. The center should jiggle slightly when gently shaken.
  10. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

[‘Use room temperature eggs to prevent lumps in the filling.’, ‘Toast pecans in a dry skillet for extra flavor before adding them to the pie.’, ‘Blind bake the pie crust for 7-10 minutes to prevent a soggy bottom.’, ‘Allow the pie to cool completely for at least 2 hours to ensure the filling sets properly.’]
