  • 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp (8g) cornstarch, mixed with 2 tbsp (30ml) water
  • 2 cups (400g) cooked rice
  • 2 cups vegetables of your choice (e.g., broccoli, bell peppers, carrots)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • Green onions (optional, sliced thin for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar. In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tbsp of water to create a slurry.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp (15ml) of oil. Add the chicken pieces and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Make the Glaze: Lower the heat to medium and pour the sauce mixture into the skillet. Stir frequently and let it simmer for 2 minutes. Slowly add the cornstarch slurry and cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  4. Combine Chicken and Glaze: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sticky glaze. Cook for 1 minute to ensure the flavors meld together.
  5. Prepare the Veggies: Steam or sauté your vegetables until tender but still crisp. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  6. Assemble the Bowls: Divide the cooked rice into bowls, top with the sticky chicken, and add the steamed veggies. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes
