Sweet and smoky mini sausages glazed with a caramelized brown sugar and pineapple sauce, perfect for quick and easy party snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450 g) Little Smokies sausages (pre-cooked mini smoked sausages)
  • ½ cup (100 g) packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup (125 ml) pineapple chunks, drained if canned or fresh-cut
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ½ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup barbecue sauce, and 2 tablespoons melted butter. Stir until smooth and well blended.
  3. Toss 1 pound of Little Smokies into the glaze, stirring gently to coat evenly.
  4. Fold in ½ cup pineapple chunks carefully to keep them intact.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a prepared 8×8-inch baking dish or rimmed sheet pan, spreading evenly.
  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the glaze bubbles and caramelizes slightly and the smokies are heated through.
  7. Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for extra caramelization, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Serve warm using a slotted spoon or directly from the dish.

Notes

Use pre-cooked smokies to keep them juicy and tender. Drain pineapple well to avoid watery glaze. Broil briefly at the end for caramelization but watch carefully to prevent burning. Can prepare mixture ahead and refrigerate; bring to room temperature before baking. For gluten-free, use gluten-free BBQ sauce and check smokies label. Optional spicy kick by adding chili flakes or hot sauce.
