Creamsicle Slushy Recipe Easy Homemade 3-Ingredient Summer Drink

creamsicle slushy recipe - featured image

A quick and easy 3-ingredient slushy combining orange soda and vanilla ice cream for a creamy, refreshing summer treat reminiscent of childhood creamsicles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 fl oz (355 ml) orange soda
  • 1 cup (240 ml) vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup (approx. 240 g) ice cubes
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1 tsp orange zest or a splash of fresh orange juice

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients and slightly soften the vanilla ice cream by leaving it out for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Pour 12 fl oz (355 ml) of orange soda into your blender.
  3. Add 1 cup (240 ml) of softened vanilla ice cream to the blender.
  4. Add 1 cup (about 240 g) of ice cubes to the blender.
  5. If desired, add 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) vanilla extract and/or 1 tsp orange zest or a splash of fresh orange juice.
  6. Pulse blend on medium-high speed for 20-30 seconds until smooth but still icy and slushy. Adjust texture by adding more orange soda if too thick or more ice cubes if too thin, then blend again.
  7. Serve immediately in a tall glass, optionally garnished with a slice of orange or a sprig of mint.

Notes

Use slightly softened ice cream for easier blending and silkier texture. Chill your serving glass for a colder drink. Pulse blend to avoid melting ice and losing slushy texture. Pour soda gently to preserve carbonation. Experiment with ice amount for preferred texture. Use fresh, fizzy orange soda for best flavor.
