creamy orange creamsicle smoothie recipe - featured image

A quick and easy 3-ingredient smoothie that captures the classic creamsicle flavor with a creamy, refreshing texture. Perfect for warm days, post-workout refreshment, or a light dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (150g) frozen orange segments
  • 1 cup (240ml) vanilla yogurt (plain or lightly sweetened Greek yogurt recommended)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk of choice (whole milk, almond, oat, or soy milk)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (if additional sweetness is desired)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your frozen oranges: Peel and section 1 large orange, removing all seeds, then freeze the segments on a baking sheet for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Add 1 cup frozen orange segments, 1 cup vanilla yogurt, and 1/2 cup milk of choice into the blender. Add sweetener if using.
  3. Blend on low speed, then increase to high speed for 1–2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed, until smooth and creamy with no chunks.
  4. Check consistency: If too thick, add a splash more milk and blend again; if too thin, add more frozen orange pieces or ice cubes and blend until desired thickness.
  5. Serve immediately in a chilled glass. Garnish with a thin slice of fresh orange or a sprig of mint if desired.

Notes

Use frozen orange segments for best texture; fresh oranges will water down the smoothie. Vanilla Greek yogurt is recommended for creaminess and protein. Adjust milk quantity to achieve desired thickness. Optional sweetener can be added if oranges are not sweet enough. For dairy-free, use plant-based yogurt and milk. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge up to 24 hours; stir before drinking. Avoid freezing after blending.
