A quick and easy creamy spinach dip that is perfect for parties and gatherings, combining cream cheese, sour cream, and fresh spinach for a velvety, cheesy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz fresh spinach, chopped (baby spinach recommended; frozen works too, drained well)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (full-fat preferred)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking for 3–4 minutes until translucent and fragrant.
  3. Add chopped fresh spinach to the skillet. Cook, stirring often, until wilted and most moisture evaporates, about 5 minutes. If using frozen spinach, ensure it is fully thawed and squeezed dry before adding.
  4. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Blend until smooth and creamy with a spatula or hand mixer.
  5. Fold in grated Parmesan, shredded mozzarella, sautéed spinach mixture, and a pinch of nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir gently to combine.
  6. Transfer the mixture evenly into an 8×8 inch baking dish and smooth the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden on top.
  8. Let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving to thicken slightly.

Notes

Drain spinach thoroughly to avoid watery dip. Use room temperature cream cheese and sour cream for smooth blending. Do not overbake to prevent drying out. Let dip rest after baking to thicken. Optional crunchy topping: sprinkle extra Parmesan or breadcrumbs before baking.
