  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • Olive oil or avocado oil cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with a splash of buttermilk, and one with panko, parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano.
  3. Dredge each chop in flour, shaking off excess.
  4. Dip the floured chop into the egg mixture, ensuring full coverage, and let excess drip off.
  5. Press the chop firmly into the breadcrumb mixture on both sides to ensure the coating adheres.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and place chops in a single layer without overlapping.
  8. Spray tops of chops lightly with oil and cook for 8 minutes.
  9. Flip chops using tongs, spray the other side with oil, and cook for another 6-8 minutes.
  10. Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach 145°F (63°C).
  11. Remove from air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
