- 1 package lime-flavored gelatin mix (Jell-O)
- 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
- 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
- 1 cup (240 ml) vodka
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of boiling water over the lime gelatin powder in a mixing bowl. Stir vigorously for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
- Stir in 1 cup (240 ml) of cold water to cool the mixture.
- Slowly pour in 1 cup (240 ml) of vodka and whisk gently to combine. Add fresh lime juice and sugar if using, and stir until incorporated.
- Ladle the liquid into jello shot cups or molds, filling about ¾ full.
- Place the molds on a flat tray and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Once set, remove from molds and serve chilled. Garnish with lime wedges or zest if desired.
Notes
Do not add alcohol to hot gelatin to prevent it from not setting. Chill the gelatin mixture with cold water before adding vodka. Avoid freezing to maintain texture. For easier removal, use silicone molds or dip plastic cups in warm water briefly.
